Montmartre engagement session
Montmartre engagement session
I’m very fortunate to be living in one of the most photographed streets in Montmartre, and will happily welcome requests from couples looking for an Paris engagement session around my neighbourhood, or even, like in this case, at home. And this is exactly what happened for Celia and Aga who were expecting their first child.
One of the reasons I love shooting sessions in Montmartreis because of all the quirky little streets and many different photo opportunities you can find within a short distance: the famous stairs of Montmartreof course, but also the small paved streets, the Sacre Coeur, and hidden gems. Of course it gets busy out here but as with every neighbourhood, us locals know where to go to find a quieter spot. However I like the fact that Montmartre is a buoyant neighbourhood and think it’s also nice to include the life and soul of the place in pictures therefore I’m not the type of photographer who will only shoot at 7am to avoid the crowds! That for me is good for postcards, not for real life pictures! Also, I hate 7am.
The engagement session in Montmartre
Anwyay let’s get back to Celia and Aga: for their session we decided to start inside and do some lifestyle shots with the available natural light. They had been living in two different cities for a few months so it was a good way for them to enjoy a very special and intimate moment together, only two months before their first child was to be born.
Aga was feeling playful so was the one that came up with the pillow fight idea. I, on the other hand, was dead set on playing with long exposures in front of the famous Sacre Coeur merry-go-round. The girls were feeling great so we did lots! All in all, another great engagement session in the most beautiful area of Paris: Montmartre!
